It's been rumored that Frit Fairies was born out of the frustrations
of being limited by 96coe frit and is a collaboration of two lampworking friends who work in 104coe glass.
Here then, supposedly, is their story.

The Frit Fairies Get an Idea.
Once upon a time, two crazy women sat down together to make some beads. They fired up their torches and began to melt glass to form little round beads. Then one reached for a tray of 96 frit and began to embellish the molten glass. "Careful," the other friend reminded her, "Remember the 8% rule - Too much of that 96 frit and you could crack your bead..."
They continued to work and talk about the limitations of working with two types of glasses. They wondered aloud why they can't just buy 104 frit. "If we only had a good selection of 104 coe frit - then all of our problems would be solved...." Not ready to abandon their huge selection of 104 glass, they began to ponder their options...
Suddenly a light bulb went off right over their heads, and they looked at each other and knew immediately what they had to do. Then Lola, the ever fearless and most fidgety one - jumped up and grabbed her credit card, and ran to the computer to buy a handy frit crushing device. And with that - suddenly - very suddenly - FritFairies was born. They threw off their goggles and danced about - rejoicing in solving their frit problem.
And naturally, after seeing how great their frit was working, decided it was best to share the fun. And so with a smile and a handshake they got down to business - crushing and mixing, and blending and testing, packaging and labeling, and building a website for you to enjoy. And all that was done without a nod or a consult from their handsome princes. Cause sometimes, as the story goes - handsome princes (who do not know how to lampwork) just want to ask too many silly questions....
And now somewhere, in a poolhouse, in the middle of Pennsylvanialand - we hear that these same two Frit Fairies are very busy and hard at work, making all your 104 frit dreams come true too.
The End.
